The History of ACE Motor Sales
The beginning of Ace Motor Sales, Inc. dates back to 1913, when the late James L. Eastlack and his two sons, Allen C. and Clayton N. Sr., received a Ford Franchise in Richwood.
In 1920, the Eastlacks applied for and were granted a Ford Franchise for Woodbury, and Allen C. Eastlack and his father began business at 27 Cooper Street. In 1924, Clarence D. Prickett purchased stock from Mr. James L. Eastlack and became a partner in the deal. Mr. Prickett retired in 1948, his stock being bought out by Allen Eastlack and C. N. Eastlack Jr.
C. N. Eastlack Jr. joined ACE as a vice-president and general manager in 1949, following 12 years as manager of Trio Motor Sales in Pitman. “Cy” was a graduate of Temple University, Ford Motor’s Merchandising School in Dearborn, and the Ford Dealer’s Seminar. For several years he was president of the N. E. Regional Ford Dealers Conference, and severed over 15 years as president of the Gloucester County Auto Dealers Association.
